This 1977 Volkswagen Type 2 is a factory-built ambulance that was owned by the German Red Cross in Birkenau from June 1977 to September 1996. It was imported to the US in 1997 and spent time in California and Wyoming before being purchased by the current owner in 2021. The bus is finished in beige over gray vinyl upholstery, and power comes from a 1.6-liter flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes emergency lights, Hella fog lights, an AM/FM radio, a CB radio, a car phone, a rear fold-down ramp, a roll-out stretcher, and side-facing rear seating. This Type 2 krankenwagen is offered on dealer consignment in Denver, Colorado, with paramedic equipment, a training dummy, factory literature, import documents, service records, and a clean title.

The body is finished in beige with German Red Cross graphics on the doors. Equipment includes painted bumpers, Hella fog lights, bumper-mounted sirens, a roof vent, a left-side shore power hookup, and emergency lights mounted on the roof and rear bumper. The front cabin features a split bench seat trimmed in gray vinyl along with color-matched door panels. A bulkhead with a sliding window separates the front cab from the rear compartment, and additional equipment includes a Roadstar AM/FM radio, a car phone, and a fire extinguisher.
