1978 Cadillac Eldorado

This 1978 Cadillac Eldorado was kept in a collection by the original owner and eventually purchased by the seller from the original owner’s estate in 2020. Now showing 209 miles, the car is finished in Carmine Red over Medium Red leather upholstery. Power is from a 7.0-liter V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, and additional equipment includes 15″ steel wheels, a vinyl-padded Landau roof, a power antenna, Twilight Sentinel automatic headlights, cornering lights, remote-controlled side mirrors, automatic climate control, cruise control, power windows and locks, and an AM/FM stereo. The fuel system was overhauled under current ownership by re-lining the fuel tank, replacing the fuel-sending unit and fuel pump, and rebuilding the carburetor, and additional work in preparation for the sale included replacing the bumper fillers, alternator, radiator, battery, and spark plugs. This Eldorado is offered with service records totaling approximately $9,600 along with a clean Illinois title in the seller’s name.

The body is finished in red, and equipment includes a vinyl-padded Landau roof, a power antenna, Twilight Sentinel automatic headlights, cornering lights, remote-controlled side mirrors, and chrome bumpers. The 15″ steel wheels feature body-color covers and are mounted with whitewall tires. The Eldorado featured a torsion bar front suspension and a coil-sprung solid rear axle along with Electronic Level Control and power steering.

The seating surfaces are upholstered in Medium Red leather, and appointments include automatic climate control, cruise control, power windows and locks, and an AM/FM stereo.

The 7.0-liter V8 features a four-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 320 lb-ft of torque. Recommissioning in preparation for the sale included cleaning and re-lining the fuel tank, replacing the fuel-sending unit and fuel pump, and rebuilding the carburetor. The alternator, radiator, battery, and spark plugs were also replaced.

Power is sent to the front wheels via a three-speed TH425 automatic transmission.
