This is a 1978 C10 Custom Deluxe Big Ten Fleet side long box with 23,749 actual known miles. It is a true original survivor that has been in my family since1980. My father bought this truck with low miles from the original owner and kept it garaged on his small farm near White Bear Lake MN. He owned it for 19 years only occasionally using it to tow hay or livestock trailers as he had another working farm truck. I took ownership upon Dad's passing in 1999 and kept it covered and garaged off site until that property sold in 2025. It continues to be covered and garaged at my residence now but needs more space. I used it to haul home heating firewood each season and took an occasional leisure tour just to show it off. I have clear Minnesota title on this vehicle but the title odometer section shows N/REQD because it was 21 yrs. old and recording was exempt in 1999. The mileage is actual known and accurate @ 23,749. This truck is stock from the factory with Dads only add on being the running boards, trailer brake control, cab wedge speakers, glass pack mufflers and the hood bug shield. The cherry bomb red powder coat is still visible as the under carriage has little to no rust. I do not have the spare carrier cross strap or hardware as the spare was always secured in the box. There are a few minor dings in and around the box from work but no chips or rust anywhere on the body or fender wells. The right rear mud flap was destroyed by a vintage tire failure but no fender damage. The engine compartment shows some patina but I don't know best cleaning practices so it's shown as is. The oil/filter and rotation maintenance was performed at home on a regular schedule and the coolant was flushed and renewed when needed. The twin 20 gallon fuel tanks have always been stored full with fresh stabilized fuel annually. The only shop service ever required on this truck was rear brake and wheel cylinder replacement @ 22,600 miles which I would have done myself if I had a drum puller. The front tire pair was replaced @ 20,000 miles with matching rear pair and spare replaced @ 23,000 miles due to tire failure concerns. This truck is in exceptional running condition and has always been garaged and additionally stored during Minnesota winters. All accessories and cruise function as new but the A/C system has lost its refrigerant charge. I only partially removed the seat covers in the photos to show the pristine condition of the bench seat vinyl and the original floor liner has no wear. All photos show the just out of seasonal storage condition from under the cover without any cleanup so imagine what a thorough detailing and compartment cleaning would produce on this gem. The 350 CID 4 barrel automatic is smooth and powerfully efficient consistently providing 20 mpg hauling. This truck has 100% factory original paint, glass and drive line components right down to the white steel wheels and dog dish hub caps. This is the true unicorn that every original square body collector is searching for so bring your hauler you won't be disappointed with this keepsake classic.
