1978 Volkswagen Type 2 Westfalia

This sweet van sat in someone’s backyard for 25 years until a neighbor bought it and began a huge restoration! We bought it from her when she decided to retire. We have all receipts of what’s been done. All that’s left to restore cosmetically are the wood veneer on some cabinets and some rubber on the front seats. We never used the stove or the fridge but the previous owner said she used both and she camped regularly in it. They could probably use a tune up!

The new engine is a stock, fuel-injected 2L with around 5k miles on it. The front end was rebuilt. There is new canvas on the pop top and new upholstery with the exception of the pop top bed, which was unaffected and is in good shape. It has an alarm and power locks and new tires. We disabled the alarm and power locks because the buzzer drove my husband crazy but I loved it! Nice to have the doors automatically open. The rubber gaskets around the windows have been replaced. The list is long of what’s been done to bring this van back to life, but these are some of the highlights! This is a really sweet van that needs a new family to love it.
