About the model

The Mercedes-Benz 380SL was a variant of the R107 SL-Class that was introduced for the 1980 model year. The 380 SL was powered by a 3.8L V8 engine that generated 215hp and sent this drive to the rear wheels via automatic transmission. The SLC version was available in 1981 and featured a wheelbase 14 longer than the SL, affording additional room for rear-seat passengers. Production of the 380SL lasted until 1986 when the model series was discontinued.
