This particular 1987 Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV, chassis # ZA9CA05A4HLA12053, was originally delivered to Lamborghini East, in New York on October 8th,1986. Just 610 5000QVs were produced and this one wears Rosso over Nero with gold phone dial wheels. Additionally, this Countach is a rare, U.S-spec, factory fuel-injected example.
Acquired from a collector in Pompano Beach, Florida, the 2nd, Texas-based owner would take possession of this example in 2003 and would hold onto it until 2023. Under their care and roughly 25,000km ago this Countach received a major service that included an engine rebuild, fresh clutch, and a rebuild of the suspension along with a whole host of other servicing items. All of this was documented via a large stack of receipts that come with the sale of this Countach and total to over $91,000. The cooling service was also upgraded along with the air-conditioning to bear the Texas heat as this example enjoyed frequent use throughout its ownership.
As it stands today, this Countach presents wonderfully after the front end repaint it received in the summer of 2023 coupled with a completely original Nero interior that remains in great condition. With 56,980 KM, it is an inviting, excellent driver quality example that has received a plethora of mechanical servicing and rebuilding over the years. Recently, in the summer of 2024, this example had another comprehensive service, this time carried out by Evan’s Automotive in Columbus, Ohio which consisted of a $30,000 transmission, clutch, and differential rebuild. As a result this Countach is one you can reliably drive with relative comfort.
Oftentimes the Countach can be found in two extremes - either as low-mileage garage queens too pristine to drive, or as worn-out models requiring a $100,000 restoration to be roadworthy. This particular example strikes the perfect balance, boasting both an aesthetically pleasing appearance and a mechanically sound, turnkey-ready condition ready for enjoyment.
Included with this Countach is extensive documentation, factory manuals, tools, spare tire, and a clean CARFAX report.
