l am the third owner of this 1989 BMW 535i. 6-cyl. 5-sp. manual, early example of the E-34 platform BMW. It is 36 years old and in great mechanical condition. The paint is original and holds a beautiful wax shine. The three adult owners have maintained all scheduled maintenance, the preventive maintenance includes:
+ the installation of new motor, new transmission
+ drive-shaft bearings
+ new heater core, radiator, heater hoses
+ a new windshield
+ new seat upholstery
+ new headliner
+ rebuilt original 10 speaker, Am/Fm cassette Alpine radio
+ steering components
+ suspension struts and shocks
All accomplished using OEM BMW parts. It has no dents, no rust, no wrecks, no missing parts. Very straight and original. I did replace the 15-in. 'Basket-weave' wheels with 16-in. 'Basket-weave' wheels. Windows, doors and sun-roof operate exactly as they should. No cracks in the dash no CEL lights on the instrument cluster. This car's NEW motor and NEW transmission were installed by the original owner while he was still driving it, approximately 12 years and 100 thousand miles ago.
