At Gallery Aaldering, we believe that everything about a sporting French car revolves around heritage and driving experience. We saw it back in the day with the legendary Peugeot 405 Turbo 16 charging across the desert sands of the Dakar Rally, and we unmistakably see it once again today in this Peugeot 405 Mi-16 X4. There is certainly no shortage of exclusivity here. One glance at the documentation makes that immediately clear. The original manuals are still present, and once you begin researching the history, it quickly becomes evident that this is no ordinary Peugeot 405.

Delivered New in Aachen and Beautifully Preserved
This Peugeot was delivered new in 1990 by Autohaus Thümmler in Aachen, Germany. What we have here is a highly sought-after Phase 1 version of the legendary Mi-16, equipped with the then-revolutionary all-wheel-drive system featuring a viscous coupling and a rear Torsen differential. The documentation clearly demonstrates that this Peugeot has been cared for with tremendous attention throughout its life. In addition, this Peugeot comes from a prominent private car collection.

Presented in Exceptional Condition
With just 31,000 kilometers, this Peugeot is an absolute time capsule. It genuinely feels as though this car is only five years old. While most Mi-16s were thoroughly enjoyed and heavily used back in the day, this example remains in beautiful and remarkably original condition. The bodywork, designed in collaboration with Giorgetto Giugiaro’s contemporaries at Pininfarina, features an aerodynamic drag coefficient of approximately 0.30 and still shines brilliantly today. The factory-original sunroof, the glass, the signature alloy wheels, and all rubber components remain in excellent condition.

The moment you step inside and settle into the interior, everything radiates that unmistakable 1980s atmosphere. The 1.9-liter sixteen-valve engine fires up eagerly, and with this characterful powerplant, outstanding performance is guaranteed. Bienvenue to the world of French haute performance and exceptional handling. The steering feels unbelievably sharp, and the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in roughly nine seconds. It is an absolute pleasure to drive, and quite honestly, we simply cannot get enough of it.
