What’s special about this listing
Recently imported from Japan (May 2025), this is truly a great example of a 1990 Toyota Celsior. Badged as the Lexus LS400 in the US, the Toyota Celsior was one of Japan’s flagship sedans. This vehicle was recently titled and registered in the US so all the legwork on this is complete. This is a turnkey imported vehicle.
Engine/Driveline– This vehicle includes the legendary 1UZ-FE V8 Engine (4.0L, 32V), that’s still running strong. This is the legendary V8 from Toyota and was first introduced in 1989. The engine has only 102,014km (63,388 miles) on the clock, so there is plenty of life ready to be unleashed. It was originally imported with 63,000 miles. I made sure to go through the engine once I imported this beauty and found no leaks or odd ticks. The engine is mated to a 4-Speed transmission (A341E) and shifts through each gear smoothly with no issues.
Exterior- For a 35-year-old car, the body is in great shape. The paint is the original and is a Black Jade Pearl (Paint Code-6k4). Other than a few nicks and blemishes, there are no signs of abuse and no signs of rust. The panels are intact and are in good shape. The side mirrors work as they should, and the taillights/headlights are in great working order. The fender pole also works and illuminates as it should. The wheels are also original and show no sign of abuse. The suspension was also upgraded to Ideal coilovers, making this an excellent start for a VIP build. Fresh off a recent detail, the vehicle looks as if it just walked off the showroom floor.
Interior – This vehicle comes equipped with cloth seats, power- adjustable seatbelts, memory seats, SRS airbags, and automatic tile telescopic steering wheel. This even came equipped with a cabin air purifier that was an exclusive feature in the JDM models. The cruise control works and all the gauges are in good working order. The sound system is original and comes with the factory CD changer. The side mirror also has a mist feature to clean excess dirt from extensive driving. AC blows cold and heat works as it should.
Service Work – I imported this vehicle back in May 2025 and since then I’ve changed the oil and oil filter, new spark plugs and spark plug wires, new front/rear rotors + pads, new air filter, new wipers, new battery, 4 brand -new Falken tires. As mentioned above, the Toyota Celsior was badged the Lexus LS400 stateside so all parts and upgrades will be easy to source.
