1991 Mercury Capri XR2

This 1991 Mercury Capri XR2, is being offered by the original owner as a project car for a Capri enthusiast who would like to update or restore a very fun, drivable classic convertible, and understands how to maintain this uniquely assembled Ford product. The XR2 was the high end variant and 1991 was the first model year for this Australian-assembled vehicle with a turbo-charged Mazda 3-series powerplant, premium sound, and electrically operated windows, mirrors, and lock.
This vehicle runs and drives, as shown in the video, and is registered in California including passing the smog test and safety checks in July, 2025. It has been serviced by the same local mechanic since before 2000. It was purchased in San Diego and has been garaged there ever since. While the vehicle runs and drives, it needs tires replaced - good tread but expired by date - and the brakes recently started sticking and heating up after a few miles - they will need repair before it can be driven extensively.
