Morris Brothers is proud to present this unique piece of Porsche history. The 964 RS America was a special run of 701 units built specifically for the US in leu of the more bare bones Carrera RS in Europe. Aside from the standard RS not passing safety/emissions in the us, It was believed that the US market wasn't going to accept it's more track focused pedigree so the RS America came with optional Sunroof, Radio and Air Conditioning.
The engine has reportedly been fitted with 993 sports camshafts, an aftermarket DME chip, and B&B headers. Additional modifications include adjustable coilovers long with adjustable sway bars and spherical-bearing control arms and trailing arms, “Big Red” brake calipers, Lexan rear windows, a welded roll cage, Recaro racing buckers, a MOMO steering wheel, and a fire suppression system.
A dyno read out shows the car making 247hp and 235tq to the wheels on its current setup. The transmission has been converted to straight cut gears and power steering was removed providing a very raw driving experience. This car is perfect for someone looking to bring a car to shows, carve the canyons or take it to the track.
This car was reported stolen and recovered in 1997 and previous owners report only the radio and rear deck-lid were missing. An authentic RS America decklid was sourced and installed and the vehicle was repainted in 2024.
Ryans Driver Note: Please excuse me while I wipe the smirk off my face. Watch out for bumps in the road, keep the windows rolled down and don't be afraid of the higher rev range and you'll have a really, really great time. It's raw, it's direct and it's unforgiving. If you are familiar with a car that is purpose built for the track, you'll have a basic understanding of how this car feels. The throttle response is snappy and the gears are long, the suspension is so tight that an inexperienced driver should use caution when turning in. It's not cozy, it's very raw and it's epic.
I would not recommend this car to everyone, but I would recommend this car to anyone who wants one of the most raw street legal Porsche's I have ever driven.
