About the model

The Ford SVT Lightning was a performance version of the Ninth Generation Ford F-Series. The SVT Lightning was developed by Ford's SVT (Special Vehicle Team) division, and was only offered as a rear wheel drive standard cab. A tuned 5.8L V8 engine provided 240hp for the Lightning, which benefited from handling and tuning from the legendary Jackie Stewart. A total of 11,563 examples of the first generation SVT Lightning were built before the end of production in 1995. Ford would introduce a Second Generation SVT Lightning for 1999.
