The 1995 SVT Cobra R is a track-focused evolution of Ford’s performance legacy, engineered by Ford’s Special Vehicle Team (SVT) to deliver uncompromising speed and control. One of only 250 units built, this Mustang deletes all non-essentials in favor of performance optimization.

At its core is the only modern Mustang to get a 5.8L (351 cubic inch) Windsor V8, producing 300 hp at 4,800 rpm and 365 lb-ft of torque at 3,750 rpm – a significant jump over the standard Cobra’s 5.0L engine. The intake manifold is GT-40 cast aluminum, paired with high-flow GT-40 iron cylinder heads, a roller camshaft, and heavy-duty cooling components.

Upgraded from the standard T5 transmission found in the 5.0L powered cars, the R has a Tremec TR-3550 5-speed manual transmission with a high-torque clutch and reinforced driveline, sending torque to a 3.27:1 limited-slip rear axle. Braking is upgraded with 13-inch front discs, heavy-duty linear-rate springs, Tokico struts, and unique sway bars refine handling for increased grip.

To reduce weight and increase rigidity, the Cobra R eliminates air conditioning, radio, rear seats, sound deadening, and power accessories. It also features a unique aluminum radiator, oil cooler, power steering cooler, and larger front and rear hubs for track endurance.

The R also has exclusive 17x9-inch wheels to help deliver more precise feedback and better lateral performance, making it one of the most focused and collectible factory Mustangs ever built.

Factory fuel cell has been replaced by a standard Mustang unit. Only mods are a BBK off-road x-pipe and BBK cold-air intake. SVT Certificate and Marti Report will accompany the car.
