This is a 2003 Ford Mustang Special Vehicle Team (SVT) Cobra convertible. It is the 3,088th vehicle in a limited-edition build of 5,082. There were only 1,896 additional SVT Cobra convertibles built in 2004 which was the second and last year of production.
The car came from the factory with a 4.6 liter, 4 valve, dual overhead cam, electronic fuel injected, supercharged V8 engine producing 390 horsepower and 390 foot pounds of torque. The drivetrain included a TREMEC T-56 6-speed transmission, an aluminum drive shaft and an 8.8 inch ring gear with 3.55:1 limited-slip differential driving an Independent Rear Suspension (IRS). Ford's nickname for the car was "The Terminator". This car is complete with the original Redfire Clearcoat paint with very few blemishes thanks to a generous application of EXPELL paint protection film. The original Eaton Gen IV Roots-type supercharger has been replaced by a Ford Racing Whipple 2.3 liter supercharger with a 3" pulley producing up to 17 psi of boost instead of the original 8 psi. The additional boost is supported by an SCT BA-2600 Big Air MAF, BBK cold air intake, Lethal Performance return style fuel system with dual Walbro 255 liter per hour fuel pumps and Ford Racing 60 pounds per hour fuel injectors. It has been professionally dyno tuned to 494 horsepower and 478 foot pounds of torque. Stiffer motor, transmission and differential mounts were installed to handle the additional torque. Braking has also been upgraded with the StopTech Balanced Big Brake system on the front and Power Slot rotors in the rear. Front and rear suspension has been converted to coil over with Bilstein struts and shocks valved to match the coil over springs. Eibach performance sway bars have been added front and rear. All soft bushings in the suspension were replaced with urethane or delrin. Additional chassis rigidity was added with full length welded subframe connectors. This is a very powerful car with superior handling and low mileage.
