2005 Volkswagen Jetta GL

2005 VolksWagen Jetta, 2.0 Engine (4 cylinder), 5 Speed Manual Transmission, 218,000 miles

The car is in good shape, considering its age. All parts are original and the repairs were done with original (or OE) parts.
There are a couple of minor dings on a door and on the rear-right fender, the front fenders have some rust damage, other than that, the body is healthy.
There are couple of cracks starting in the lower-left corner of the windshield. One of them extended towards the right, the others are 3-5 inches long.
The headlights are somewhat fogged; a set of reconditioned headlights will come with the car. The rear left taillight has a small missing piece, it will probably need to be replaced.
The original power train feels like it still has a long way to go. Fluids were changed per the manufacturer’s schedule and with the manufacturer recommended replacements. Only used correct grade synthetic oil for as long as I owned the car. There is a leak in the exhaust line.
The seats look good, the floor is solid and protected by original floor mats. The upholstery on the doors and roof is getting detached in a few spots. Original audio system still working fine.
The door locks are operational, but sometimes do not respond to the electrical actuators. Had it checked and was told that the microswitch sensors would need to be cleaned or replaced. The battery is weak and therefore starting up the engine is a bit hesitant, but once started it works well and the alternator charges fine while the engine is running.
(Hydraulic) power steering works very well and has that classic European feel, making it easier to turn the car, but still giving a good amount of feedback that helps the driver feel “connected” to the car and the road.
Overall, a classic project car that can still run well for many years after some restoration work.
The price is intended to reflect the issues that need to be addressed and (of course) is subject to negotiation. I am willing to consider any reasonable offer.
