About the model

The Jaguar XK, which had previously been known as the XK8, was the standard, or base, variant for the 2nd Gen Jaguar XK. Introduced for the 2006 model year, the updated XK had a completely new design but was still fitted with the previous generation's 4.2L V8 engine. In 2009 the XK had an upgrade to larger engine displacement, a 5.0L V8 capable of 380hp and 380 lbf/ft. Other changes included a brand new ZF automatic transmission and the interior also had a few upgrades, with the most noticeable being the rotary style gear selector. Production of the 2nd Gen Jaguar XK ended in 2014, but many late production examples were sold as 2015 cars.
