The cockpit houses a roll cage with door bars, a pair of carbon-fiber race seats with Sabelt harnesses, a DSA race connectivity gateway (RCG) system, fire suppression system was recertified in 2024. Comes with safety nets. The door panels are constructed of carbon fiber, and a display for the rear-view camera system is mounted atop the Alcantara-trimmed dash.
The Sabelt flat-bottom steering wheel is mounted to a quick-release hub ahead of carbon-fiber shift paddles and features LED shift lights along with driver switchgear and controls that complement those found on the carbon-fiber center stack. Instrumentation consists of a configurable digital screen with a carbon-fiber surround.
Derived from the powerplant in the contemporary 488 GTB, the twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter Tipo F154 V8 used in the 488 Challenge is equipped with a lightened exhaust system as well as specially tuned engine management software for a factory-rated output of 661 horsepower and 560 lb-ft of torque.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a short-ratio seven-speed F1 dual-clutch gearbox with Challenge-specific shift programming and an electronic limited-slip differential. The gearbox was replaced in October 2021, and scrapes are visible along the underside.
In the last 300 miles All fluids were replaced ( gearbox, engine, brake, power steering) AC compressor was replaced and system has been recharged. Steel brake rotors and pad were also replaced. Lithium Ion battery is new. Racelogic V Box with 2 cameras are installed in the car. 2 layers of tear off screens were also installed.
