The Town & Country name has been commonly used by Chrysler during its history, mainly as a way to designate station wagon models, but also being used on occasion for convertibles, sedans, and minivans. The Town & Country was introduced for the 1941 model year and was originally a wood panelled station wagon, but was available in other body styles for 1946-1950. For the majority of the rest of its production, the Town & Country was a station wagon, but starting in 1990, it became the name of a new family of minivans before finally ending production in 2016. The Chrysler Town & Country was available in ten distinct generations: Pre-war 1st Gen (1941-1942), Post-war 1st Gen (1946-1950), 2nd Gen (1951-1959), 3rd Gen (1960-1964), 4th Gen (1965-1968), 5th Gen (1969-1973), 6th Gen (1974-1977), 7th Gen (1978-1981), 8th Gen (1982-1988), and Minivan (1990-2016).
