The seventh generation Chrysler Town & Country was introduced for the 1978 model year, and was offered as a faux wood panelled four door station wagon. The seventh generation Town & Country was based on the Chrysler LeBaron, and was fitted with a 3.7L inline six, or 5.2L or 5.9L V8 engines. Production of the seventh generation Town & Country continued until 1981, when Chrysler introduced the Eighth Generation Town & Country.
