In addition to the very popular and successful 1900 Berlina and Sprint versions, Alfa Romeo also produced different versions of the 1900's unibody chassis for Italian coachbuilders to develop contract-built and special versions of the Alfa Romeo 1900. Many Italian coachbuilders participated, resulting in several rare and special versions of  the 1900, many of them famous and highly coveted. In an effort to pay homage to the carrozerie, several recreations of these cars were produced.
