The Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Speciale is one of the most sought and desired of all Giullieta variants. Introduced in 1959, the Sprint Speciale, also known as the SS, was a two seat coupe built on a shortened Giulietta chassis. Styled by Bertone and powered by a 99hp 1.3L inline four engine, the SS represented the top of the line for the standard Guilietta range. The first 101 cars made were known as the "low nose" as they featured a lowered front profile and were called the 750 SS. These 750 SS cars were built for the purpose of homologation for FIA racing series. A further 1,261 examples of the SS were built, bringing the total number of Giulietta SS cars produced to 1,366 before the end of production.
