Alfa Romeo Spider - Series 1 (1966 to 1969)

The Alfa Romeo Spider debuted in 1966, with its first generation, known as the Series 1. A series of two door, front engined roadsters, the Series 1 Spider was offered in three variants: the 1600, 1750 Spider Veloce, and 1300 Junior. Originally intended to be called the 'Duetto,' the name fell through when it was unable to be registered. The Series 1 Spider is commonly called the Duetto, dovetail, and boat tail. The Spider was available with a variety of inline 4 engines and were built until 1969. The Series 1 Spider was replaced by the Alfa Romeo Spider Series 2 starting in 1970.
