The AMC Matador was a series of cars introduced for the 1971 model year. From 1971 until 1973, the Matador was offered as a full size model, and was available as a hardtop coupe, sedan, or station wagon. From 1974 to 1978, AMC offered the Matador as a mid-size car, but still in the same body styles. Over the course of production, a range of inline six and V8 engines were used on the Matador, which was in production until 1978.
