The American Motor Car Company was founded in 1906 in Indianapolis, Indiana. A short lived production of automobiles, The American Motor Car Company made a few notable models such as the American Traveler and the American Underslung. The Underslung was notable for its chassis layout which put the chassis under the axles, giving a great center of gravity. The American Motor Car Company eventually ran into financial problems and was declared bankrupt in 1913. It should not be confused with the American Motors Company (AMC) created in 1954.
