BMW M2 - Base Model - F87 (2016 to 2018)

The BMW M2 - Base Model was the standard offering for the F87 BMW M2 that debuted for the 2016 model year. The M2 was only built in a coupe body style that had a wider profile than a standard 2 Series. This more aggressive aesthetic helped differentiate the M2 from standard cars, and they hinted at the performance they were capable of. These cars were powered by BMW's N55B30 engine, which was a turbocharged 3.0L inline six engine with an output of 365hp. This engine was paired to a 6 speed manual or 7 speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox to send drive to the rear wheels. In addition to the powertrain, these cars benefitted from improved suspension and brakes to increase overall performance. Production of the Base Model BMW M2 ended in 2018 when it was replaced by the updated F87 BMW M2 Competition.
