The tenth generation of Chrysler New Yorker was introduced for the 1979 model year. The tenth generation New Yorker was offered as a four door sedan powered by a 5.2L or 5.9L V8 engine, and featured hardtop-like styling coupled with hidden headlights giving the car a more sophisticated appearance. Production of the tenth generation New Yorker ended in 1981, when the Eleventh Generation Chrysler New Yorker was unveiled.
