Chrysler introduced the eighth generation New Yorker for the 1969 model year, and was offered as a 7.2L V8 powered sedan or hardtop (available in two or four doors). The eighth generation of New Yorker saw the model go through a redesign which gave the car a slightly curvier contour. Chrysler produced the eighth generation New Yorker until 1973, when they introduced the follow up, the Ninth Generation New Yorker.
