The fourth generation of Chrysler Newport was introduced for the 1974 model year. The fourth generation Newport saw updated styling, and was offered in two or four door hardtop, as well as a sedan body styles. Three V8 engine options (5.9L, 6.6L, 7.2L) were available for the fourth generation Newport, which was built until 1978, when the Fifth Generation Chrysler Newport was unveiled.
