Citroën DS19 (1955 to 1968)

The Citroën DS19 was introduced in 1955 and was the first variant of the Citroën DS available. The DS19 was available as a sedan or station wagon (offered in different Break, Familiale, and Commerciale configurations). This new line of front wheel drive cars were powered by a 1.9L inline four engine, and was offered with disc brakes, as well as Citroën's revered hydropneumatic suspension. In 1965, a larger 2.0L inline four engine was fitted to the DS19, and the model became known as the DS19A, which would eventually be renamed the DS20. Production of the Citroën DS19 ended in 1968.
