In 1965, a larger 2.0L inline four engine was fitted to the DS19, and the model became known as the DS19A, which would eventually be renamed the DS20. The DS19 was offered also as station wagon. Henry Chapron, one of the most renowned French coach builders of that era, used the DS 19 as base for the Cabriolet.
