The Citroën Type A was introduced in 1919. The Type A was the first Citroën produced, and was offered on a short or long chassis in a variety of body styles. The Type A was powered by a 1.3L inline four engine, producing 10hp. One of the most notable features of the Type A was its final drive gear, which featured herringbone teeth. The shape of these herringbone teeth would be used to create the famous Citroën logo. The Citroën Type A was in production until 1921.
