Doble Series F (1930 to 1931)

The Series F was introduced by Doble in 1930. Only seven units were built, offered in various luxury body styles assembled by third-party manufacturers. The Series F used essentially the same engine as the Series E, coupled directly to the rear axle, maintaining the rear-wheel drive configuration with a fixed transmission without gears or clutch. However, it incorporated improvements to the boiler and fuel system, seeking to reduce costs and improve operation. It maintained a remarkable performance, although its production was so limited that it never achieved the fame of the Series E. The most notable thing about the Series F was its experimental nature: it condensed the experience accumulated by the brand and showed what could have been the evolution of steam cars, just at a time when gasoline already dominated the market. The Doble Series F was produced until 1931.
