Dodge Lancer - 1st Gen (1961 to 1962)

The first generation of Dodge Lancer was introduced for the 1961 model year. Previously, the Lancer name had been used to describe hardtop variants of full-size Dodge models, but starting in 1961, the Lancer became its own model. The first generation Lancer was a series of compact cars offered as sedans, hardtops, or station wagons. Trims included the base 170, premium 770, and "sporty" GT. A 170ci (2.8L) or 225ci (3.7L) inline six (Slant Six) engine options were available before the first generation Lancer was replaced in 1962 by the Dodge Dart. Dodge would use the Lancer name again for the Second Generation Dodge Lancer, a series of five door sedans introduced for 1985.
