Ferrari 488 GT3/GTE (2016 to 2023)

The 488 GT3/GTE were racing versions of the Ferrari 488 GTB, designed for international GT championships under different technical regulations. They incorporated significant improvements in aerodynamics, ergonomics, electronics and weight reduction, optimizing the balance between speed, stability and reliability on the track. Both were equipped with a 3.9L twin-turbo V8 engine and a race tuned 6 speed sequential transmission, enabling quick and precise shifting under the demands of competition. While sharing a common platform, each version was engineered to meet specific regulatory frameworks: the GT3 was developed for customer racing series with Balance of Performance regulations, featuring systems such as ABS and traction control tailored to the category, whereas the GTE was built for top level endurance championships, allowing greater manufacturer development in aerodynamics, suspension design and overall vehicle optimization for long distance racing. Both maintained a close relationship with the Ferrari 488 Challenge, sharing architecture, engine, and design concepts adapted from Ferrari’s single-make cup versions, although refined and optimized according to the technical demands of their respective categories.
