Ford Country Sedan - 5th Gen (1965 to 1968)

The 5th Generation of the Ford Country Sedan was introduced in 1965. It was a full-size station wagon with a 4-door body style based on the Ford Galaxie platform. It retained rear-wheel drive and offered 3-speed manual and Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmissions. Engine options included various V8s, from the 289ci to the powerful 429ci in high-performance versions. One of the most notable aspects was the introduction of the innovative "Magic Doorgate" tailgate in 1966, which could open like a side door or swing down like a conventional hatch. The 5th Generation Ford Country Sedan was produced until 1968 and was replaced by the 6th Gen.
