The fifth generation of Ford Country Squire debuted for the 1960 model year. This new generation of wood paneled, four door station wagons was based on the Ford Galaxie, and featured a range of V8 engines, as well as a standard 3.7L inline six. Both the inline six, and the V8 powerplants were offered with manual and automatic transmission options, sending drive to the rear wheels. This generation of range-topping station wagons was in production until 1964, when it was replaced by the Sixth Generation Ford Country Squire.
