Ford F-Series - 1st Gen (1951 to 1952)

The 1951-1952 Ford F-Series was the second evolution of the First Generation F-Series. Offered in F-1 (1/2-Ton), F-2 (3/4-Ton), F-3 (3/4-Ton), and Heavy Duty variants. The overall design received styling updates to the exterior cab, interior, bed, and technical updates. While the F-1 was most familiar as a 6 1/2' pick-up bed, multiple configurations were available, including a Parcel Delivery truck, Deluxe Panel truck, 8' pick-up, Platform/Stake, Express Delivery, and cab-only. Notably, the front end was updated to a broader "horizontal wing" grill. Overall the powertrain and drivetrain were updated to be more robust and reliable, including an inline "clipper six" overhead valve six-cylinder and the traditional flathead V8 mated to a three or four-speed manual transmission. These trucks are popular choices for Custom creations. Ford marketed this generation as "The Worlds Greatest Trucks" and redesigned the truck as the 2nd Generation F-Series for the 1953 model year.
