Ford F-250 - 8th Gen (1987 to 1991)

Introduced for the 1987 model year, the Ford F-250 was the 3/4 ton variant for the 8th Gen Ford F-Series. The 8th Gen F250 was offered in regular cab and extended cab (SuperCab) pickup body styles, in RWD or 4WD configurations. A fuel-injected 4.9L inline six engine was standard, while 5.0L, 5.8L, and 7.5L gasoline V8 engines were optional. In addition to gasoline engines, a 7.3L diesel V8 was also available. For 1987, a 4 speed manual was standard, but from 1988 onwards, a 5 speed manual was the standard transmission, with optional automatics available. Three trim levels were offered, the base Custom, mid-range XL, and top of the line XLT Lariat. An HD version was also offered, that had rating over 1000lbs greater than standard F250s. The 8th Generation Ford F-250 was built until 1991, when it was replaced by the next generation 9th Gen Ford F-250.
