Ford Ranchero - 2nd Gen (1960 to 1965)

The second generation of the Ford Ranchero debuted for the 1960 model year. This generation of the Ranchero was based on the Ford Falcon, and continued to be offered in the distinct coupe utility (pickup) body style. For the first year of production, only a 144ci inline six was offered, but that engine was joined by a 170ci inline six starting in 1961. In 1963, an optional 260ci V8 engine joined the lineup, before 1964 saw a 200ci inline six become the standard engine, and a 2 barrel carbureted 289ci V8 (C-Code) become optional. For 1965, a more powerful 4-barrel carbureted 289ci V8 (A-Code) was also offered alongside the previous years C-Code. These engines were paired to manual or automatic transmission options with drive being sent to the rear wheels. Production of the 2nd Gen Ranchero ended in 1965, when it was replaced by the 3rd Gen Ford Ranchero.
