The second generation of GMC Yukon was introduced for the 2001 model year. The second generation Yukon was an upmarket version of the Chevrolet Tahoe, and was offered as a four door SUV. This updated generation of Yukon was built using the GMT800 platform, and was offered with a 4.8L or 5.3L V8 engine. Production of the second generation Yukon lasted until 2006, when the Third Generation GMC Yukon was unveiled.
