Holden HG (1970 to 1971)

The HG model was introduced in 1970 by Holden. Notable for the introduction of the Tri-Matic automatic transmission, it was available in a wide range of body styles including sedan, wagon, ute, panel van, the Monaro coupe, and the luxury Brougham version. The HG offered 2.6L and 3.0L inline six engines, as well as 4.1L, 5.0L and even 5.7L V8s in sportier versions. Toward the end of its production run, the 3.3L inline six also appeared, marking the transition to the next generation. Overall, the HG combined refinement, variety, and performance, establishing itself as one of the most representative classic Holdens of the early 1970s.
