The second generation of Honda S2000 was introduced for the 2004 model year. Known as the AP2, this generation of S2000 saw various updates to the drivetrain, suspension, and exterior. For the North American market, Honda used their F22C1 engine, which was a 2.2L VTEC inline four. For Europe, Japan, and Australia, Honda continued to use the F20C 2.0L unit from the First Generation AP1, although all of the mechanical and styling changes for the AP2 were implemented. Depending on the market, these engines had an output ranging from 237hp to 247hp. This power was sent to the rear wheels via a 6 speed manual transmission. Production of the Honda S2000 lasted until 2009, when the model was discontinued.
