The KTM 65 SX is the critical "stepping stone" in the KTM hierarchy, serving as the first true racing machine for young riders transitioning from the automatic 50cc to a full-size manual experience. Since its debut in 1998, it has defined the class by being the first 65cc bike to feature a six-speed gearbox and a hydraulic clutch, teaching juniors the essential skills required for professional motocross. The most important technical milestone for this model is the Pressure Controlled Exhaust Valve (PCEV), which mimics the power valve systems of larger bikes to provide a competitive, snappy powerband.
