Lagonda was a British automotive manufacturer that was established in 1906. Founded by American engineer Wilbur Gunn, Lagonda initially began operations by building motorcycles before quickly entering automotive production in 1907. After Gunn's passing in 1920, the company continued operations, but not without financial difficulties. In 1935, Lagonda was acquired by Alan P. Good, who eventually sold the company in 1947 to Aston Martin boss David Brown, who merged Lagonda with Aston. Operations continued for a few years, but slowly the Lagonda name was phased out, only surfacing on certain Aston models in name only (most notably the Aston Martin Lagonda). Over the years, a few noteworthy Lagonda models were produced, including the 2-Litre, M45, LG45, V12, and Lagonda's final model, the 3-Litre. In modern times, the company still remains under the umbrella of Aston Martin, and although a few revivals have been mooted, nothing has yet truly come to fruition.
