As with the Diablo VT and VT Roadster, the second generation Diablo SV was only produced in 1999. These second gen cars are distinguishable by the new fixed headlights which were implemented across the Diablo range. The updated 5.7L V12 engine added variable valve timing, seeing total power rise to 529hp, but otherwise these SVs are almost identical mechanically and design-wise to the previous generation. The largest update to second gen cars took place in the inside. A new, wave-like dashboard took center stage, bisected by a piece of glass running its entire length. This piece of glass was used to display indicator and warning lights, giving the cabin a more modern look. As the last generation of SV built, these SVs are some of the best of the breed, and their place in the market reflects this.
