The Lamborghini Jarama GT arrived on the market in 1970. As the follow up model to the Islero, the Jarama was a 2+2 grand tourer powered by Lamborghini's 4.0L V12. Styled by Bertone's Marcello Gandini, the Jarama was built on a shortened Espada chassis, which had been created to meet US automotive market standards. A total of 176 examples of the Jarama GT were made before the end of production in 1973. Lamborghini would also introduce a more powerful version known as the Jarama S.
