Land Rover Defender Classic 90 Wagon 50th Anniversary Edition ROW (1998 to 1998)

Built to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Land Rover, the Defender 90 50th Anniversary was introduced in 1998 as a limited-production special edition based largely on the North American Specification (NAS) Defender 90. A total of 1,071 units were produced worldwide, with 385 allocated to the United Kingdom and the remainder distributed across Japan, Europe and the Middle East. Powered exclusively by a 4.0-liter Rover V8 producing approximately 190 hp, it was paired with a 4-speed ZF automatic transmission, making it the first Defender sold outside North America to feature an automatic gearbox. Standard equipment included air conditioning, a Safety Devices front roll cage, Freestyle alloy wheels and a numbered commemorative plaque. UK and European vehicles were finished exclusively in Atlantis Blue, a color unique to the model.Today, the 50th Anniversary is regarded as one of the most collectible factory-built Defender specials, combining NAS-inspired luxury, V8 performance and limited production in a single commemorative model.
