Built in 1932, the Maserati 8C was the last of the two-seat Grand Prix racing cars from Maserati in its era. Its inline eight-cylinder engine and chassis were based on the Tipo 26M. It also featured hydraulic brakes and a four-speed manual transmission. The car did see some racing success with the guidance of driver Sir Harry Birkin. Just two examples were built and the car was succeeded by the Maserati 8CM, which helped initiate the age of one-seat Grand Prix cars for Maserati.
