Mercedes-Benz 500K - W29 (1934 to 1936)

Mercedes-Benz introduced the 500K in 1936. The successor to the Mercedes-Benz 380, the 500K emphasized luxury and performance. Using the highly successful independent suspension first debuted on the 380, the 500K featured exemplary ride and handling. Power was provided by a supercharged 5.0L straight eight engine producing 160hp. This power coupled with the ability and refinement of the chassis and suspension combined to make a truly world class car. The 500 K was available in various body styles, including coupe, sedan, various convertible options, and the top of the line Special Roadster. A limited production model with only 320 examples produced, the 500K was available until 1936 when it was replaced by the Mercedes-Benz 540K.
