The Mercury Monarch was a series of compact sedans and coupes that were introduced for the 1975 model year. Although the Monarch name had previously featured on models such as the Mercury Eight and Mercury Montclair, this line of Monarch was an independent model. These rear wheel drive cars were available with both inline six and V8 engine options, and were in production until 1980, when the model was discontinued.
